Teaching English Language Arts has taken on new forms in the 21st century. It is no longer proficient enough to teach students how to navigate print literacy. We as teachers need to come to the classroom with the creativity and enthusiasm about the increased portals into learning that are open to students. This can be intimidating to take on when not familiar with how to institute into a classroom, but there are now resources and standards that are available for both teachers and students. Students will be able to learn all of the traditional literacy skills that are asked of them on assessments with in the technology and community that is now available. Students will be able to interact with a larger community that will broaden their horizons and take their learning experiences to the next level.
